Arts Experience at Loyalist

Course Overview: In this beginner course, explore the many possibilities of acrylic painting in this hands-on course, which focuses on building foundational techniques such as colour mixing, layering, texture and composition. Instruction will cover brushwork and provide opportunities to engage with modern local art. Each session encourages personal expression, inviting students to draw inspiration from the local landscape, creative voices and a vibrant, ever-changing culture. Students will examine how painting can challenge conventions and help build community, both through their own work and in group discussions about art. If you’re new to acrylic painting, you can purchase an optional $55 materials kit, which includes all the supplies you’ll need for the course.

• Four weekly sessions
• Tuesday, November 18, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
• Tuesday, November 25, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
• Tuesday, December 2, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
• Tuesday, December 9, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Important Notes:

• This course takes place at the Belleville campus: 376 Wallbridge Loyalist Rd, Belleville, ON K8N 5B9
• HST included in the price
• Optional materials kit at an additional $55.00
• Campus information, including room number, parking, directions, etc., will be provided closer to the start date
• A refund (less $20.00 administrative fee) will be issued if you withdraw from a class at least seven days before the start date of the class. After this deadline, no refunds will be issued.
• If a course is cancelled by Loyalist College, registered students will be provided with a full refund. College decisions to cancel a course will be made one week before the start date of the class.
